Moleskin Custom Jean. English made by us not for us

Made to measure,  this is a tailored hard wearing traditional Moleskin. Importantly, we still buy a much higher quality moleskin fabric than most found today on the market. Sadly, all of the British suppliers now buy in their moleskin from China and India and it lacks (at least it seems to us) that traditionally firm and hardwearing handle that traditional moleskin trousers always had. Also the soft brush on the cheaper moleskins soon become thin. Especially after a few washes. Ours just get better with age. We know that they are expensive, but we also know there isn't very much out there to compete with how hard wearing and well made they are.

We buy ours from family owned Kindermann in Germany and they still weave all of their own fabrics. Their cottons are traditional 2 ply long staple yarns, whereas most 'modern' moleskins are using single ply short staple and hence why they do not wear as well as this great fabric. It also explains why it is possible to buy a pair of 'moleskins' at a fraction of this price, but hey...you get what you pay for.

These are heavy work pants, which, if you know Moleskin, are quite stiff but last forever!,  Waist size increase by 1" from 28" to 50" and legs can be left unfinished or finished to your length. All the internal seams are fully bound and we use a high quality brushed cotton pocket bag by Dragoni of Italy. It also worth pointing out that we make them with a split waistband at the back and we leave plenty of spare fabric in the centre seam so that should you ever need to let them out we can do it for you. Trousers also have a really high-quality antique brass zip with double button fastening.
