The women's 4-pocket Orkan waterproof wax jacket is available in 20 colours and is 100% 2 ply, U.S grown cotton. You can also choose from several lining colours as well..
If you have any specific size requests, other than the standard ones given on our size chart, that's ok too! Drop us an email if you require any more details on this fine coat. It is made in England in our own workshop.
The wax cotton fabric for this coat is supplied by Halley Stevenson's of Dundee, Scotland and is a USA grown two ply, long staple cotton. It is a more expensive fabric than traditionally used for wax cotton and gives a far better drape due to using two finer counts of Cotton yarn that achieve a more compact weave and makes the fabric stronger with improved handling. The fabric also ages much better when using a two ply yarn. It is also much more waterproof due to the tighter weave. The most popular wax Cotton jackets on the market use a single ply weave as it is cheaper to buy, but our intention has always been to only use the best available fabrics.
The lining fabric is also from the same supplier in Scotland and using the same principles of finer, 2 ply yarns and a tighter weave, it acts as a second barrier against the elements to give you one of the most waterproof wax jackets available. The long term benefit of our jackets that use these fabrics is that they are longer lasting and over time they develop all of the characteristics that used to be associated with wax jackets when they all used to be made from this better faric.
We use either English Leather trim supplied by G.H Leathers of Northampton, or French Cowbelly leather or Nubuck, supplied by Pechdo of France. The Scottish Tweed trim as shown in pictures is supplied by Lovat Mill of Hawick, Scotland.
