Lightweight, Breathable Protection in Natural Cotton

The Cicely Women’s Spring/Winter Raincoat is a beautifully simple and effective outerwear piece designed for warmer wet weather. You can order as an unlined 100% two-ply cotton with a dry wax finish, it offers a natural balance of weather resistance and breathability, making it ideal for spring and summer wear, or, you can order it lined with cotton.

We also offer it in the world famous Ventile fabric, which is a superior Swiss Cotton and even more waterproof for up to 4 hours for the single layer (standard one keeps you dry for 2 hours) and 8 hours with the double layer Ventile.

If you want this coat to be super warm you can also choose to insulate it with either Merino wool or Goosedown. With Merino it will be warm to -10C and Goosedown -25C - Neither of them make the coat look bulky

The two-ply cotton we use develops a rich dry wax patina — a texture and depth of character that comes from the way the fabric is woven and finished. Unlike traditional heavy waxed cloths, this dry wax treatment creates a softer, lighter feel while still providing protection from wind and light rain.

Remarkably, despite its waxed nature, the coat is machine washable, making it easy to care for and practical for everyday use.

Cut in a relaxed, clean silhouette, the Cicely raincoat is easy to wear over layering pieces, skirts, dresses, or trousers. Its unlined construction keeps it cool and comfortable on milder days, allowing air to circulate naturally through the cotton and helping regulate body temperature without compromising protection.

For those who prefer a different performance fabric, the Cicely is also available in exceptional Ventile® Swiss cotton — a densely woven natural fibre offering enhanced wind and rain resistance while remaining breathable and soft in wear.
