The Ivanhoe Ventile is a rare expression of luxury in functional outerwear — a jacket that combines natural weather protection with the extraordinary comfort of 100% pure cashmere lining.

The interior is fully lined in pure cashmere, a material more commonly associated with the finest Savile Row tailoring. Chosen for its exceptional softness and insulating qualities, the cashmere lining brings deep, natural warmth to the jacket while remaining light and supremely comfortable against the body. Once ordered, we will contact you to select your preferred cashmere colour or check, ensuring the interior is as personal as the exterior.

The outer shell is crafted from Ventile® cotton, a densely woven, breathable natural fabric renowned for its ability to resist wind and rain without synthetic membranes. This makes the Ivanhoe particularly well suited to cold, changeable conditions where comfort and refinement matter as much as protection.

Movement is integral to the design. The jacket features an action back with bi-swing shoulder pleats, allowing ease through the shoulders and arms while maintaining a clean, structured silhouette. All major seams are reinforced with twin needling, adding long-term strength in areas of stress.

At the front, the Ivanhoe uses a dual fastening system: a heavy-duty two-way antique brass zip, backed by a naturally waterproof wool-alpaca Loden panel, and secured with antique brass snap fasteners. This layered construction enhances weather protection while adding depth and character to the design.

Additional details include an internal waistcoat-style zipped panel for added warmth and structure, a waist drawcord to subtly adjust fit, and robust leather trim at the collar, lapels, elbows, and cuffs. The leather is sourced from Tanneries Pechdo, chosen for its durability and the way it develops a rich patina over time.

Each Ivanhoe Ventile is made to order in England, with a typical lead time of around three weeks. Because we cut and assemble every jacket ourselves, pre-shipment tailoring adjustments can be made where required to ensure the fit is right for you.

The jacket is recommended for use in temperatures between –6°C and 6°C. For those requiring protection in more extreme cold, there is the option to add pure goose down insulation, extending the jacket’s performance to approximately –25°C.
