A refined women’s 4-pocket wax jacket made from exceptional two-ply cotton — waterproof, breathable, and handmade in England

The Orkan is our women’s luxury wax jacket: a beautifully made, four-pocket design that combines the timeless practicality of traditional British outerwear with a more refined, feminine line. It is designed to be protective, durable, and elegant in equal measure.

The outer cloth is a premium 100% two-ply waxed cotton supplied by Halley Stevensons of Dundee, Scotland. This fabric is woven from U.S.-grown long-staple cotton using finer two-ply yarns, which create a more compact weave than the cheaper single-ply wax cottons commonly used elsewhere. The result is a cloth with noticeably better drape, improved strength, superior handling, and greater weather resistance.

We have always believed that if you are going to make a truly special wax jacket, the fabric must be exceptional. That is why we use a more expensive two-ply cloth rather than the single-ply alternatives found in many mainstream wax jackets. Over time, this fabric also ages more beautifully, developing the rich character and patina that people used to associate with the finest traditional wax outerwear.

Built for Weather

The lining fabric is also supplied by Halley Stevensons and follows the same principle of finer two-ply yarns and a tighter weave. This gives the jacket a second barrier against the elements and helps make the Orkan one of the more waterproof wax jackets of its kind, while still remaining breathable and comfortable to wear.

Because both outer and lining are built from high-quality natural cotton fabrics, the jacket feels calmer and more comfortable than many modern technical alternatives — substantial, dependable, and easy to live in.

Trim & Finish Options

The Orkan can be finished with a choice of beautiful trims, allowing you to tailor the look to your preference. We use either English leather supplied by G.H. Leathers of Northampton, or French cowbelly leather or nubuck supplied by Pechdo of France. The Scottish tweed trim shown in some images is supplied by Lovat Mill of Hawick, Scotland.

Colour & Personalisation

The jacket is available in a wide range of wax cotton colours, with several lining colours to choose from as well, allowing you to create something that feels distinctly your own.

If you need a size outside the standard chart, that is no problem — because we cut and make everything ourselves in our own workshop, we can usually accommodate specific size requests and small adjustments.
