Possibly our warmest smock — a natural-fibre fortress for cold, wind and rain

Modelled on an old Swedish military smock from the 1930s, the Authentic Loden Smock is built for serious weather and deep winter comfort. It’s cut in a classic, voluminous silhouette to allow generous layering, while retaining a clean, purposeful shape.

We use authentic wool–alpaca Loden sourced from Leichtfried (Austria). The properties of true Loden have been trusted in Southern Europe for centuries: exceptional warmth, excellent breathability, and natural weather resistance. As the fabric begins to get wet, the alpaca fibres swell, tightening the weave and helping the cloth shed wind and rain without relying on synthetic membranes.

Ventile® Lined for Comfort & Weather Protection

The smock is lined with Ventile® cotton — renowned for its comfort and performance in demanding conditions. The result is a garment that feels calm and natural in wear: warm, breathable, and quietly protective.

Optional Pure Goosedown Upgrade

For extreme cold, you can add pure goosedown insulation at checkout. With the down option, the smock is wearable down to approximately –30°C; without down, it remains comfortable down to around –10°C to –15°C depending on layering and conditions.
