The Blake is our idea of the perfect travel jacket: a refined take on the classic barn-jacket style, smart enough to wear over a suit, but relaxed and roomy enough for everyday use. It’s slightly less “outdoorsy” in appearance than many waxed jackets, with a tailored look that still feels casual and comfortable.

Most travel jackets are made from pretty ordinary jacket cotton. The Blake is built from a superior 200g  Ventile high twist cotton, chosen for its brethable/waterproof qualities, richer drape, and quietly confident presence. The fabric is supplied by Ventile themselves, renowned for producing  the best outerwear cotton in the world. You can buy it either as a single layer or double layer Ventile product. Single layer is waterproof for a couple of hours and double layer up to 8 hours. There is a choice of 20 colours, in outer and lining. If you would like to buy it as a two layer, Ventile jacket, just select the lining at checkout and it adds £390 to the price 

Pockets & Practicality

The Blake is designed to be genuinely useful. The distinctive, oversized lower pockets are double-sized and split down the middle — effectively giving you four lower pockets — plus an additional pocket above. Inside, you’ll find two internal pockets: one zipped, and one with a pocket flap. At the rear, there’s a double-opening game pocket with flaps for extra storage on the move.

Collar Options

The jacket comes with a corduroy collar as standard, with the option to upgrade at checkout to leather or nubuck suede.

Made by Us, In-House

As with all English Utopia garments, the Blake is made entirely by us — we don’t outsource to factories. Design, pattern cutting and fabrication are all carried out in-house in our own workshop. If you’d like any tweaks to the style, we’re happy to adjust details where possible.
