The Chuffin About Jacket is a simple, beautifully made unlined cotton jacket designed for everyday usefulness without fuss or pretence. Easy to wear, practical and full of character, it is the sort of jacket you reach for when you are out all day doing a bit of everything and not worrying too much what to call it.

Made from premium 2-ply water-repellent cotton sourced from Halley Stevensons of Scotland, the cloth uses U.S.-grown long-staple cotton yarn for a superior handle and a clean, durable finish. It is a fabric with real substance, yet light enough to make this an excellent all-round jacket for much of the year.

The design is deliberately straightforward. Two front patch pockets keep the look clean and functional, while a sturdy two-way zip adds ease of movement and everyday practicality. The unlined construction keeps the jacket light and versatile, making it just as useful over a T-shirt in spring and summer as it is layered beneath a heavier coat in colder weather.

Inside, the seams are beautifully French seamed for a neat, durable finish that reflects the care taken in every detail. As with all English Utopia garments, the Chuffin About Jacket is designed, patterned, cut and made by us in our own workshop, giving it the integrity of true small-scale British manufacture rather than mass production.

This style is also available in waxed cotton for those who prefer a more traditional wax finish. And because we make everything ourselves, alterations to body length or sleeve length can be specified if required.
